This beautiful region was created by glacial movement during the last ice age and currently encompasses the communities of Lake Eugenia, Feversham, Flesherton, Kimberley and Markdale.  The eastern half of the valley is part of the Niagara Escarpment and was designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 1990, guaranteeing its preservation for generations to come.  The western half of the valley is home to the ski hills of the Beaver Valley Ski Club and Talisman Resort.

Grey Road 13 takes you through the heart of the Valley, through the charming hamlet of Kimberley and right to the foot of “Old Baldy“, an accessible section of the Bruce Trail popular with hikers and climbers, that got its name from the fact the bluffs stand out in an area of mixed forest as the only visible patch of rock, evoking the image of a ‘bald’ section devoid of vegetation.  The hills of the escarpment loom approximately 30 meters above Kimberley, but the top of the cliffs are 215 meters above the floor of the valley creating some of the most dramatic “bird’s eye view” scenery Ontario, particularly in the fall months.
