Priceville Christmas Craft Show

Stothart Hall, Priceville (Grey Rd. 4 & Glenelg-Artemesia Townline)      9:30am – 3pm

Kick off the holiday season with this annual village tradition!  This well-loved event featuring over 30 vendors showcasing handmade wares, crafts, food items and more on 2 floors.  Admission is free.  A hot lunch is available for purchase.

Owen Sound Kiwanis Santa Claus Parade

Downtown Owen Sound      10am

The Kiwanis Club of Owen Sound presents the 74th annual Santa Claus Parade highlighting this year’s theme, “It’s A Musical Christmas”, featured in music, costume, characters, dance and displays!  At the conclusion of the parade Santa will be at Owen Sound City Hall’s front entrance to greet children.

Owen Sound Festival of Northern Lights

Downtown Owen Sound – 824 1st Avenue West

Owen Sound Holiday Tour of Homes

After a year off the Owen Sound Holiday Tour of Homes is Back!  Get into the holiday spirit by visiting all 7 beautiful decorated locations within and around Owen Sound.  After the tour unwind with beverages and treats at the Bayshore Community Centre while you take in a decor demo or get hands-on with a DIY project to add some holiday cheer to your home.  Tickets must be purchased in advance (use this link to purchase your ticket online).  All proceeds from this event will go to the Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce who provides hospice palliative care to Grey & Bruce residents and their families at Chapman House Hospice in Owen Sound.  Questions about this event?  Email Jody Johnson at jjohnson@greybrucehospice.com

Markdale Moonlight Madness and Santa Claus Parade

On Friday night your favourite local vendors will stay open late and offer some fantastic deals to help you start your Christmas shopping!  Don’t miss the tree lighting at 7pm.  And then on Saturday, join in a traditional small town Santa Claus Parade hosted by the Grey Highlands Chamber of Commerce!  The parade starts at the old Chapman’s property and travels east to the Arena.  Kids can visit Santa after the parade at the Walter Harris Memorial Library, beside the arena.  Interested in entering a float in the parade?  Contact the Chamber of Commerce here.

Nottawa Holiday Market

Stop by Nottawa Community Hall to see wares from some wonderful local vendors, take in the special “Princess Tea Party” with visits from Belle and Cinderella (purchase tickets in advance here) and enter the silent auction benefiting Sick Kids hospital.  The market is also open on Dec 1st from 10am – 3pm.

The Georgian Bay Concert Choir Presents Handel’s Messiah

Georgian Shores United Church, 997 – 4th Ave. E., Owen Sound      7:30pm

This familiar Christmas favourite will feature Ian Sadler on organ, as well as Julia Morson, soprano; Margaret Bardos, mezzo; Quade Nielsen, tenor; and Shawn Mattas, baritone.  Tickets are $25 for adults, $5 for youth (age 2-18).  Advance tickets are available at Birgit’s Pastry Cafe in the Owen Sound Artists’ Co-op or from any GBCC member.

Blumination – Opening Night

Spectacular lights and sensational sounds abound along this 1km winter stroll through the heights of innovation to the edge of your imagination.  Follow the trail along beautiful, tree-lined pedestrian streets and pathways through the Village and around the Mill pond to discover magical, mega-watt light displays. Meaford Christmas Window Unveiling and Santa Clause Parade

Hanover Santa Claus Parade

Don’t miss this wonderful small town holiday event brought to you by the Hanover Rotary Club!  Bring your lawn chair and stake out the perfect spot to watch Santa make his way through the downtown core.  This year’s theme is “The Little Drummer Boy”.  For details regarding entering a float, click here.

The Markdale Community Christmas Choir Celebrates Christmas!

Celebrate the season with the Community Christmas Choir’s performance at Annesley Church.  All are welcome!  A second performance will take place on Monday Dec 9th at 7:30pm.  Snow Date is Wednesday Dec 11th at 7:30pm.

Thornbury Olde Fashioned Christmas

From the beautifully decorated shops opening their doors to the activities throughout the day.  From the Christmas tree lighting and horse-drawn sleigh rides to reindeer .  We even have chestnuts roasting on an open fire, singing, and laughter!  And we mustn’t forget Santa and his helpers!   Christmas is a time for fellowship, joy and goodwill among all…and the town of Thornbury invites you all to celebrate it with them!

Moreston by Candlelight

Join Grey Roots Museum at Moreston Heritage Village for an old-fashioned Christmas Dec 14th and 15th only!  The historic buildings of Moreston, 1850s to 1940s, will be open and dressed in seasonal decor. Hear stories of Christmases long ago.  This event is a truly unique Christmas experience for all ages and has become an annual tradition with many local families. Because the event takes place outside, visitors are reminded to dress for the weather.  Grey Roots members are free but an RSVP is required (email media@greyroots.com ).  Due to popularity, it is advised that tickets be purchased in advance(for the same price as a museum admission).  Buy your tickets here.

Chatsworth Christmas In The Village and Santa Claus Parade

5 Toronto St., Chatsworth     10:30am

Come for the parade – this year’s theme is “Christmas Toys” – and stay to stroll through the village to enjoy food and family fun all day long.  Don’t forget to stop by the Chatsworth Legion after the parade for some hot chocolate and to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus!  Those interested in entering a float in the parade should email the Chatsworth Agricultural Society.
