Markdale Soccer Update – 2021 Season

From The Blog

5 May 2021

Has your family been waiting to hear about plans for the 2021 soccer season?

Markdale Minor Soccer is staying in close contact with health authorities and soccer’s governing bodies to see what options are available for the upcoming soccer season.  The current provincial “stay at home” order includes suspension of all soccer activities until at least May 20th.

The club is following the “Return to Play” process in hopes of receiving approval from the Grey Bruce Health Unit to re-start soccer this summer.  As part of that process, many new volunteer positions have been identified by new public health rules and must be filled if the club is to run any kind of soccer season in 2021.  Please reach out through markdalesoccer@gmail.com if you can offer some of your time.  Most volunteer positions do not require any soccer experience.  All positions must be filled to run soccer programs under the Covid rules.

Thank you to everyone who responded to MMS’s pre-registration survey!  It was great to see such a high level of interest in playing soccer this summer!  Registration is now open and will remain open until May 31.  Some programs will have numbers strictly limited by public health regulations so do not delay your registration!

Download the 2021 Registration form here and email it to markdalesoccer@gmail.com

Full refunds will be offered should the season be cancelled outright and prorated refunds will be available in the case of a late start or early finish to the season.
