Even Covid-19 can’t stop the Festival of Northern Lights in Owen Sound!
The 33rd incarnation of the festival begins on November 21st and runs nightly until January 3rd along the Sydenham River in downtown Owen Sound and at Harrison Park. Light displays will be placed along 1st Avenue East & West, between 8th & 9th Streets and along 1st Avenue East between 7th & 8th Street East. Download a copy of the route map here.
Some concessions have unfortunately had to be made to meet Covid restrictions. The opening celebration, the Festival in the Park, wagon rides and visits with Santa Claus have had to be cancelled but displays will still be set up at Harrison Park, including the Infinity Tunnel and the Winter Wonderland Walking Path.
Our plan of action is always to grab a hot beverage from one of the local cafes or coffee shops (a tasty way to support small business!) to enjoy while you stroll through the downtown core enjoying the holiday sights and sounds.
The FONL is always happy to welcome volunteers. Anyone interested is asked to visit owensoundfestivalofnorthernlights.ca
