The Bruce Trail is over 900 km long and runs from Niagara to Tobermory. The Trail is divided into nine different sections, all of which have their own clubs. The Beaver Valley section of the Bruce Trail spans from the Blue Mountains to Blantyre and consists of 120 km of main trail and 35 km of side trails, covering more than 2, 600 acres of land. In Grey County, our ability to experience and preserve nature is highly valued. In the last several years, appreciation for our local environment and attractions have grown, especially throughout and following the COVID-19 pandemic. More and more frequently, buyers are expressing interest in living in an area where it’s easy to get outside, get some exercise and enjoying the great outdoors. In our opinion, one of the best ways to do that is to hike local sections of the Bruce Trail!

Hoggs Falls
Located 5 minutes outside of Flesherton, Hoggs Falls is a favourite hiking location among both locals and visitors to the area. At Hoggs Falls, trail users can visit the scenic waterfall for photo opportunities before setting off on their hike, whether they choose to go a fair distance or to explore this year’s new trail developments on shorter loops situated closer to the parking area.
Eugenia Falls
Eugenia Falls is another popular stop along the Beaver Valley section of the Bruce Trail. While visiting Eugenia, hikers can enjoy great views of the 30m high waterfall, the river valley and upland forests. Keen hikers can follow the trail back along the edge of the Cuckoo Valley towards Hoggs Falls . Those looking for a more casual hike can explore the woods between the parking area and the waterfall viewing wall.
Old Baldy
Located in the popular hamlet of Kimberley, Old Baldy is one of our own favourite Bruce Trail hikes. Hikers seeking a longer, more strenuous hike can begin at the base of Old Baldy on Grey Road 13. Those looking for something less demanding can park their vehicles in the Old Baldy parking area at the top of Sideroad 7B and set off from there. The top of Old Baldy sits 152 meters above the Beaver Valley and offers truly spectacular views of the Valley and the village of Kimberley.
